Parent Child Class with Ms. Katie (2025/2026)
Class Description
I love golden sunshine, magical forests and joyful meadows. All of nature has a feeling like a wonderful secret waiting to be found. It is in this feeling that I live and thrive, and I love to bring this feeling to the children! A world of wonder, goodness and beauty. It can be found not only in forests, meadows, streams and nature but everywhere you look. And it is good even for us to keep finding it when the world seems so lost in strife. Along with a nurturing daily and seasonal rhythm, we will find this wonder, magic and beauty wherever we go over the course of our year together ~ and we will have help from some special littleĀ friends!
In our time together you will get our Weekly Guide which is a lesson plan that may include all or more of the following elements:
For the Children...
~Seasonal Circle that includes finger plays, songs, verses and parent/child lap games that integrate nourishing developmental movement and repetition for the young child.
~Story or puppet show
~Movement game
~Lullaby
~Handwork or craft to do with parent
For the Parents...
~Daily, weekly and seasonal rhythm guidance including information on Festivals
~Meditation
~Handwork or Craft
~Recipe that you may be able to do some or all with your child
~Article on Early Childhood and/or Waldorf Pedagogy
These different elements of our Weekly Guide will be brought to you through the portal as videos, audio files, captioned photos, pdfs or articles.
Weekly Village Gathering at 12pm PST on Wednesdays - For our weekly Zoom, we will come together in a supportive environment with a cozy beverage of your choice. First I will start with our Gathering Song and then I may do an element of our Seasonal Circle that the children can participate in. After this they can bring something to show briefly, if theyā€™d like. Then the parents will gather in and I will present a topic from a recent article where we can discuss, share and ask questions about the article, upcoming Festivals and anything relating to our Weekly Guide. This is a wonderful time of community building and support, so hopefully you can all join in!
