Virtual Waldorf Classes for High School Homeschoolers

Far away but not long ago, from the misty forests where ancient trees whispered secrets to the wind, arrived two teachers and guides to meet marvelous students in a vast space of their online classroom. Remembering how sunlight paints patterns on the forest floor, and how birds sing their timeless melodies, the two guardians welcomed the students into the space and time devoted to learning and practice of not facts, but things that empower, strengthen, and connect.
The students soon began to realize that each of them is a guide and a guardian and they began to weave the tapestry of the class community through projects that challenged them to collaborate, lead, find ways to communicate with clarity and kindness, support and encourage each other, share, inquire, practice, ask for help...
The two teacher guides smiled as they watched their students beginning to thrive in collaborative community connections, just like they felt the power of mycelium connecting all life, from moss to tree to fer to deer to early spring blooms. Every week, students would meet in the online classroom to connect the threads from their own wooded realms inspiring each other to keep exploring, discovering, and creating beyond the screen knowing that they have friends all around the world to reach out to and rely on.
The Guardianship Class is a dynamic space where students can thrive, lead, and collaborate, find support with questions they might have, practice time management and planning skills, create community connections, and support each other. Guardian teachers serve as mentors and allies holding space for students striving to help them feel supported and challenging them to strengthen the life skills that will help them succeed in other subjects, set goals, create plans to meet their goals, stay accountable along the way, and inspiring each other to do the same.
Together, they strive to create a sense of belonging—an authentically connected high school community where everyone matters. Whether it's a virtual check-in, a supportive conversation, or a project they have assigned the students to complete, Guardian teachers strive to inspire the students to begin building connections that can last a lifetime.
